Srinagar, Feb 21: The government has taken a positive step by promoting more than 80 headmasters to the post of Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) through the Look After ZDU. This move has been welcomed by teachers and students working in the education sector.
The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) had earlier raised the issue of pending promotions for headmasters, ZEOs, and principals. Following discussions with the government, a solution was reached, leading to the release of the promotion list.

Provincial President of JKTF, Bhat Javeed, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Education Minister Sakina Itoo, and other officials for their efforts in resolving the matter. He acknowledged their role in addressing the concerns of teachers and non-teaching staff who faced difficulties due to the delay in promotions.
“This decision is a great relief for the education sector. It will improve administration in schools and benefit both teachers and students,” Bhat Javeed said.
The JKTF had actively pursued the issue with the government, emphasizing the need for timely promotions to ensure smooth functioning of schools. The latest development has brought relief to many in the education community.
